Congratulations to Dr. Charlie Mathies who will be moving on from Old Dominion. Dr. Mathies has been offered a position with the Department of Higher Education in Colorado (similar to SCHEV)!
Dr. Mathies said “This opportunity (position) allows me to live full-time (year round) with my family in Colorado and significantly reduces my time away (and commuting) from them – particularly my teenage daughter. It ultimately was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.”
He added “Being a faculty member with this program has been an honor and privilege. Working with you (and the faculty) in this program has been one of the highlights of my career. I truly mean that. I have learned a good deal from you all and I will miss working with/teaching you in the future.”
We know this is not goodbye, Dr. Mathies. Thank you for everything you have done for the program, the students, and Old Dominion University!
