My name is Dominque Moore. Each summer I lead the residential and student experience component of Emory’s Pre College Program. Since 2009, the Emory Pre-College Program, a summer academic program, provides high-school rising juniors and seniors with aspirations to pursue college an exciting glimpse into the academic and residential life offered at a top-ranked national university.
I am requesting your help to spread the word about summer internship opportunities for current graduate students. I hire a team of Student Life Assistants who help me to:
- Serve on call
- Supervise undergraduate Resident Advisors
- Program planning, implementation, and management
- Facilities management and occupancy coordination
Here is a small snapshot of important information to consider for any applicants:
- This is an in person opportunity with dates from May 18, 2026 to July 28, 2026
- This position comes with a $5,000 stipend, full meal plan, parking pass, and an apartment

Goals of the Internship Experience:
The goal of the Pre-College Student Life Assistant experience is to provide an unparalleled opportunity to work and learn in a summer Pre-College Program at a mid-sized private university. The Pre-College Student Life Assistant will work closely with the Coordinator for Residence Life & Pre-College Programs and the Associate Director of Pre-College to implement the residential component of Emory’s Pre-College program. Thus, the Pre-College Student Life Assistant will collaborate with Emory students and staff members from multiple departments within the Division of Campus Life and the Emory College of Arts and Science to ensure the needs of Pre-College participants are met.
Primary Responsibilities:
•Assist in the Supervision of 15-20 Resident Advisors which will include holding students accountable to their job expectations, having one on ones, and more.
•Create the Resident Advisor (RA) work and day-off schedule for the entire summer.
•Assist in the overall logistics of Move-In and Move-Out Day for each session including airport shuttles and RA shifts.
•Serve as the secondary point of contact between Conference Services, Housing Administration, and Building Residential Services.
•Organize all on-campus programs and small off campus field trips while maintaining the budget set by the Coordinator. This includes programming shopping and resource management.
•Co-plan and facilitate staff training. This includes presenting presentations and creating staff development opportunities.
•Attend all major trips and act as a chaperone for students, and a point of contact for the trip.
•Coordinate Pre-College participant room assignments in collaboration with Conferences staff.
•Updating and maintaining the Pre-College Guidebook by session.
•Serve, as appropriate, as initial hearing officer for any student conduct issues.
•Co-facilitate staff meetings, and at times lead them in the absence of the Coordinator.
•Serve in on-call rotation with other Student Life Assistants and be the first point of contact for RAs.
•There may be some driving responsibilities to and from small field trips.
•Serve as a positive role model and resource for all Pre-College students.
•Be a visible and accessible presence throughout the program.
•Other duties as assigned.
Employment Dates:
This position will run from May 18th, 2026 – July 28th, 2026. Interns may not hold outside employment for the duration of the internship and must be able to commit to the entire summer dates of employment.
Work Hours:
A staff position in the Pre-College Program cannot easily be translated into hours worked per day or week because of the unique nature of the responsibilities and circumstances. The position requires genuine personal commitment, flexibility, and good understanding of the unpredictable nature of the actual time involved. This position involves some evening and weekend responsibilities. Vacation time will be coordinated with direct supervisor.
Compensation Package:
•A fully furnished, single residential room or apartment. Living on campus gives you access to free cable and the internet.
•Free laundry
•A staff parking permit
•A stipend of $5000 for the summer’s work (pay may be prorated dependent on arrival/departure dates)
•A declining balance meal plan that can be used on on-campus dining facilities.
