Career Pathways offers a gateway to professional and career development resources, programs, events, and planning tools for ODU graduate students and postdocs. More information about Career Pathways can be accessed here: sites.wp.odu.edu/careerpathways
Career Pathways includes 2 programs: The Preparing Future Faculty (PFF) program and the NEW Preparing Future Professionals (PFP) program.
The Preparing Future Faculty (PFF) program is designed for graduate students and post docs interested in an academic career. You can earn the PFF Certificate by: (1) completing a mentored teaching experience; (2) creating a CV; (3) attending PFF and other professional development events; and (4) producing an ePortfolio to document and highlight your professional development and growth. Attached is a document detailing the requirements for the PFF Certificate.
The Preparing Future Professionals (PFP) program is designed for graduate students and postdocs interested in a non-academic career such as in industry, non-profit/non-governmental organizations, or government agencies. You can earn the PFP certificate by: (1) developing an individual development plan (IDP); (2) creating a resume; (3) attending professional development events or completing professional development activities; and (4) producing an ePortfolio to document and highlight your professional development and growth. Attached is a document detailing the requirements for the PFF Certificate.
The Career Pathways program is free, and is open to all ODU graduate students and postdocs. Workshops are currently offered in virtual format, but generally are accessible to both on campus and distance students. An archive of previously offered professional development workshops is also available via the Career Pathways YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnzhxTxGkpglo77iZyCMBqA).
