The Graduate School is preparing for our 5th annual 3-Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition. Part of our preparation is to provide workshops to students who may be interested in competing. To compete on November 30, 2021 at the University Theatre (SAVE this date!), a student must be finishing the graduate degree (master’s or doctorate) in fall 2021, spring 2022, or summer 2022. The 3MT is usually based on the thesis or dissertation; per competition rules, only students completing theses or dissertations are eligible.
There are two introductory workshops in August. You may attend either workshop; there is no need to attend both. The links to the workshops are below. For now, we remain virtual until fall semester when, if no changes are made to meeting restrictions, we will do in-person practices.
Previous 3MT competitors will be on hand to answer questions. Their 3MT videos will be played. We’ll discuss the rules of the competition and other requirements. We’ll also provide a general training schedule to prepare for November if students wish to compete. (Students who cannot attend either of these first meetings may still compete – there will be opportunities to get involved and begin practicing this fall.)
The meetings and links are here:
Thursday, August 5, 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.

Tuesday, August 17, 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.
