AERA is inviting you to serve as a Q&A facilitator for the 2021 AERA Virtual Annual Meeting. The Q&A facilitator is a new role established for Virtual Meeting sessions where a sizable number of attendees is anticipated. The role, as implied, is to monitor Q&A and synthesize or select questions submitted by attendees and present them when called upon by the session chair. We are creating this role for the virtual meeting to support a dynamic session when attendance runs high.
We estimate that we will need to assemble a team of approximately 150 Q&A facilitators to cover approximately 500 sessions, including a number of prominent lectures. We see this as a function that needs to be staffed. Therefore, AERA will pay those who take on this task.
We are seeking to identify persons who are ideally willing to do 5 sessions for $150. If you are willing to participate but cannot commit to 5, we will pay the prorated amount of $30 per session. In staffing for this function, we much prefer 5 so that the size of the Q&A facilitator team is as manageable as possible in the midst of a virtual meeting.
We hope the task and the payment will be enticing. This is a great opportunity for further engagement in virtual meeting activities. Facilitators will be assigned to sessions, to the greatest extent possible, based on their interests and expertise. Preference will be given to graduate students and early career doctorates. - a 2021 AERA member (if you are not a current member you can join now )
- registered to attend the 2021 Virtual Annual Meting
- available between 10:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. for at least two days (Friday – Monday) during the Annual Meeting
