🎉 ODU HIED showed OUT at NASPA 2026 in Kansas City! 🏙️
We came, we presented, we celebrated … and we brought the energy! Here’s a recap of our incredible crew in action:
🏆 HUGE congratulations to Dr. Dennis Gregory (Faculty), who was honored as a NASPA Pillar of the Profession. This is an honor reserved for the true giants of student affairs. Dr. Gregory, we see you and we celebrate you! 👏

🌟 Dr. Kim Bullington (Faculty, Ed.S. ’10, Ph.D. ’14) was welcomed into the Emerging Faculty Leader Academy Cohort 11! EFLA is only open to 8 people across the country each year.

📢 On the presentations front, our folks were BUSY:
👉Dr. Pietro Sasso (Ph.D. ’12) & Dr. Kim Bullington tackled identity, belonging, and multiracial student experiences in Greek life … twice and once with Shelley Price-Williams (University of Northern Iowa)! 💪

👉Dr. Kim Bullington, Dr. Carlton Smith (UNC-W) & Dr. Matt Smith (Valdosta State) dropped knowledge on student debt and financial equity — and their session was selected as a sponsored program by the Black Diaspora Knowledge Community! 🙌

👉Dr. Dennis Gregory served as a discussant, because why not add one more W?
👉Ph.D. student Francis Dugbartey packed the room … literally standing room only … presenting on housing choices for African international students alongside Dr. Shelley Price-Williams (UNI).

👉Ph.D. student Carlin Conaway brought the energy with her OIR colleagues presenting on high-impact practices for student staff teams.

🥂 And to cap it all off? Our annual ODU reception brought together students, faculty, and alumni for an evening full of laughter, stories, and Monarch pride.

Kansas City, it’s been real. Love, ODU HIED💙
