The Graduate School is now accepting nominations for four graduate scholarships to be awarded in the 2026-2027 academic year: the Alumni Association’s Outstanding Scholar Fellowships (2), the Meredith Construction Company Scholarship, and the Graduate School General Scholarship.
Although eligibility criteria vary by award, the nomination process is the same for all scholarships.
Nomination packets must be submitted as a single PDF and uploaded through completion of this form: https://forms.gle/9QEymnQJRxKewEtk7.
A separate nomination packet is required for each scholarship. The nomination deadline is Friday, February 27, 2026.
Each nomination packet PDF must include, in this order:
1. A letter of nomination from the GPD, program director/coordinator, or faculty member outlining the student’s qualifications
2. An unofficial transcript
3. A student goals statement (maximum 500 words)
4. The student’s curriculum vitae (CV) or resume
The awards are not discipline specific. One of the Alumni Association Outstanding Scholar Fellowships must be awarded to an ODU alumna or alumnus. Students currently holding an assistantship may be nominated for any or all awards. International students should consult the VISA Office to confirm eligibility.
Alumni Association’s Outstanding Scholar Fellowship (2)
Criteria:
• Active graduate student
• Must be enrolled in three or more graduate credit hours
• One fellowship will go to an ODU alumnus or alumna (must have graduated by December 2025)
• Final undergraduate GPA 3.50 and current graduate GPA 3.50
• $1,500
The Meredith Construction Company Scholarship
Criteria:
• Active graduate student
• Demonstrates academic excellence
• GPA of 3.75 or higher
• $9,295
The Graduate School General Scholarship
Criteria:
• Full-time graduate student
• Demonstrates extraordinary academic merit
• GPA of 3.5 or higher
• $850
