Tanisha Bradley (MS.Ed. ’12; Current Ph.D. student) named Inaugural Assistant Dean in Arts & Letters!

Congratulations to Tanisha Bradley (MS.Ed. ’12; Current Ph.D. student) on her new promotion!

Here is what the Dean of Arts & Letters at ODU had to say about her promotion:

“Tanisha Bradley has been named the College’s inaugural Assistant Dean for Student Success and Academic Excellence. Tanisha is an award-winning higher education professional. She has served Old Dominion University for nearly two decades in a variety of areas including training, fiscal operations, management, teaching, and advising.

As an undergraduate at ODU, Tanisha majored in psychology and criminal justice, earning a bachelor’s degree. Later, she would complete her master’s degree in education and educational leadership. Currently, Tanisha is pursuing a Ph.D. in higher education.

Tanisha’s first experience working fulltime for ODU came in 2005 when she was hired as office services specialist in the Office of Development. It was the start of a career journey that would take her from the Office of the Registrar to the College of Arts and Letters, where in 2017 she accepted a position as advisor and instructor. She was named Director of Advising for the College in 2023.

Tanisha’s long list of honors and accomplishments includes University Advancement Employee of the Year in 2009, Reading Teacher of the Year for Chesapeake’s Indian River Middle School in 2017, Outstanding Academic Advisory Primary Role in 2021, and the Janet A. Katz Outstanding Service to the College Award from Arts and Letters earlier this year.”
