Director of Educational Accessibility

Coordinate data management, reporting, and analysis and reporting to support accreditation and program improvement efforts. Manage all program accreditation, data, and assessment reporting mandated by internal and external entities. Provide initial analysis of results; disseminate data for further analysis; and publish reports on achievement of learning outcomes. Monitor data collection integrity, download data and convert data for statistical analysis, and archiver assessment data. Create and maintain mega datasets for longitudinal data analyses. Collaborate with and support department chairs and program faculty in the development of assessment plans and reports for all academic programs and administrative departments to demonstrate institutional effectiveness. Work with faculty and staff to develop measurable outcomes; develop or select reliable and valid measures; collect, clean, maintain, and analyze data; and report findings and implement changes as part of a continuous quality improvement process. Collaborate with Office of Institutional effectiveness & Assessment and Office of Institutional Research colleagues plus other faculty and staff in the completion of major reports, including the VDOE Annual Educator Preparation Report and Biennial review, Title II, US News surveys, CAEP and other accreditation reports as well as reports related to the University Strategic Plan (SP), Program Review, College Annual Reports, and external surveys related to assessment, and accreditation. Respond to ad hoc data inquiries from both University and outside constituencies in the area of student assessment. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field plus 6 months of experience in an Assessment and Accreditation Analyst or related occupation at an institute of higher education. Georgia Institute of Technology

Manager of Student and New Alumni Engagement

The Manager of Student and New Alumni Engagement’s primary focus is to work with students, alumni, campus partners, and Alumni Association colleagues to promote student, soon-to-be-graduates, and new alumni engagement and philanthropy. The Alumni Association’s three student programs — Student Foundation, Student Ambassadors, and Student Alumni Association — enhance the student experience by providing opportunities that connect students and alumni, amplify the student leadership experience and increase:

  • Value of the Georgia Tech alumni network and the critical role alumni play in the success of the Institute.
  • Importance of continuing the tradition of giving back to Tech through participation and

philanthropy.

  • Significance of a lifelong relationship with Georgia Tech and the Alumni Association.

The Manager of Student and New Alumni Engagement’s primary responsibility is to prepare soon-to-be graduates for their transition to alumni status and engage new alumni through strategic programming, events, and communications. The departmental goal is set to be a joint effort to engage students from their first day on campus until graduation and beyond. Additionally, this role will manage one of the two Student Engagement Coordinators. This role will also advise the Student Ambassadors (gtambassadors.org) and provide intentional strategic leadership and guidance and programmatic support for the Executive Board and general members. This role reports to the Director of Student and New Alumni Engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Student Engagement Coordinator, who advises the GT Student Foundation and works on graduating student initiatives.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and review of the Social in the City event series, which targets new alumni living in the most populous cities of recent graduates from Georgia Tech outside of Georgia.
  • Manage and update the online New Alumni Guide and its components, hosted on Georgia Tech Connect (connect.gtalumni.org).
  • Evaluate a strategic communications plan for soon-to-be graduates and new alumni, including planning and reviewing the monthly Recent Graduate Newsletter for alumni who are 0-2 years out from graduation and soon-to-be graduate email campaigns and print materials.
  • Serve as a consultant to internal and external departments and partners, including the GOLD

(Graduates of the Last Decade) Advisory Council, about specific new alumni marketing and behavior.

  • Develop strategies about graduating student initiatives, including the student leader to alumni pipeline, and how new and existing Commencement opportunities will showcase the Alumni Association.
  • Evaluate soon-to-be graduates and new alumni programming and initiatives with the New Alumni and Student to Alumni Transition Frameworks.
  • Manage the Student Ambassadors and the Young Alumni Budgets.
  • Facilitate all aspects of the Student Ambassadors, including recruitment and engagement of anywhere between 45-90 members and advising the eight student Executive Board.
  • Provide the Student Ambassadors Executive Board and general members opportunities for their personal and professional learning and development, team building and increased engagement and commitment.

  • Understanding of alumni relations, student engagement and development, and event

planning.

  • Ability to establish rapport with students and alumni resulting in achievement in programming,

leadership development and personal development. Create effective personal and professional relationships with students and alumni.

  • Communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) and the ability to professionally

represent the Alumni Association and the Institute both internally and externally.

  • Listening skills to determine the most appropriate way ahead to achieve greatest results and to determine the needs of others and find a way to meet them.
  • Interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate and work successfully with multiple constituencies, both internal and external – alumni, students, Board of Trustees, faculty, and administration. The ability to work with a diverse student and alumni population is crucial.
  • Flexibility, openness, and willingness to consider alternative ideas and suggestions.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple ongoing projects.

Education/Experience Required:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required, with an advanced degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years in student affairs, alumni relations, development, or higher education.

Minimum of 1 year direct advising experience with students, student programs and/or student organizations.

  • Demonstrated leadership in initiating and implementing programming among student

groups/organizations.

  • Managerial experience preferred.

University of Illinois at Chicago

Associate Director, New Student and Family Programs

This position serves as the primary liaison for UIC Orientation program, including the planning, implementation, coordination and assessment of the new student orientation programs, services, publications, reservations system, and processes. This position also serves as the primary supervisor for all orientation graduate and undergraduate student staff, including recruitment, selection processes, hiring, staff training and evaluation, time reporting/ tracking, and performance review.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Policy Development
    • Collaborate with campus partners to identify needs, research and analyze trends and external benchmarks, develop and analyze feedback mechanisms to develop and administer campus-wide orientation service activities.
    • Lead assessment efforts related to student orientation programming, including developing the instrument, administration/distribution, analyzing of results, implementation of findings, and ongoing planning. Orientation Programs & Activities
    • Plan for orientation activities, develop schedules and agendas, coordinate speakers and panel presentations, and arrange campus tours.
    • Develop, implement, and assess an online orientation component with educational modules for new students and their family members, which can be used in pre-orientation and post-orientation efforts.
    • Prepare, implement and evaluate programs, workshops and activities post orientation designed to provide continued support to new students Administration
    • Coordinate meeting logistic activities including arranging meeting and conference facilities, arranging food service, and providing lodging and transportation information. Negotiate and arrange with vendors to provide service.
    • Coordinate the printing, publication and distribution of orientation materials including brochures,
    • pamphlets, flyers, and electronic communications. Write, edit and coordinate the layout of all Student focus materials. Partner with Academic and Enrollment Services (AES) staff to coordinate a communication plan for all orientation programming and timelines.
    • Assist with overseeing reservation system, which is used for registering students, family members and guests for orientation sessions, producing rosters and reports, maintaining the online reservations portal, and responding to student and family questions, concerns, and accommodation requests.
    • Work with external and internal vendors on contracts and purchasing, ensure effective and efficient spending related to orientation, and identify opportunities for partnerships and sponsorships.
    • Oversee social media content on multiple platforms to make sure our marketing efforts align with our office needs and goals.
  • Staff Management & Training
    • Serve as primary supervisor for Orientation Leaders, Orientation Senior Staff members, one Graduate Assistant and summer interns, this includes recruitment, selection processes, hiring, staff training and evaluation, time reporting/ tracking, and performance review.
    • Serve as one of the lead instructors for the ASP 096 Course, as part of the training and selection of Orientation Leaders. Plan, assign and review work of staff to ensure that group objectives are met. Hire, train, develop and manage staff to ensure that a qualified staff exists to meet group objectives.
    • Manage the Student Orientation Leader and Orientation Senior Staff by coordinating the application, selection process, developing and implementing training and mentoring programs, monitoring and evaluating performance, and providing coaching and feedback.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in higher education administration, college student personnel or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in student affairs, new student orientation programming, first year experience programming, or educational program planning.
  • Previous experience with supervision of college students required. Previous experience with training, recruitment, and supervision of Orientation Leaders preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with student groups, program development and curriculum design, and facilitating educational workshops/programming.
  • Strong organizational, leadership and project management skills. Strong verbal and written.
  • communication skills and interpersonal skills including social media management. Effective, responsive communication and consulting skills and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.

Assistant Director of International Student Life

The Assistant Director of International Student Life supports international and global nomad students with their successful transition to and engagement at Carleton College. As part of the Office of International Student Life, the Assistant Director will create programs for and provide services to the approximately 200-250 international students and global nomads at Carleton. This is a full-time position with occasional evening and weekend commitments.

Compensation:

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $58,600 and $60,600. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the supervision of student employees, including the International Peer Leaders.
  • Develop and manage intentional cultural and social programs for international and domestic students to increase interaction among students of different cultures.
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of International Student Orientation and International Fest.
  • Collaborate with international student organizations, departments, and other offices to further create global citizens on campus.
  • Assess the efficacy of International Student Life programming and adapt programming based on the current needs of students.
  • Provide cultural, personal, and regulatory advising to a diverse set of international students with attention to problem-solving, crisis management, and resolving student issues.
  • Advise international students on matters of housing, transportation, employment, taxes, insurance, health, banking, driver’s license, SSN, and other cultural matters;

  • Serve on campus-wide and divisional committees to advocate for international students and third culture kids living abroad.

Required:

Radford University

Resident Director

Reporting directly to an Assistant Director for Residence life, the Resident Director (RD) serves as an active and visible residential community member who is responsible for facilitating an engaging residential experience that is highly relational; fosters curiosity and learning; centers well-being; and supports students in successfully finding their way.

The RD supports the residential experience by providing comprehensive management of 1-2 residence halls, or multiple apartment units that house approximately 230-600 residents and supervises 8-20 Resident Assistants (RA). Primary duties and responsibilities involve residential engagement and student learning; building administration and operations; supervision and management; student advising and leadership development; crisis management and student support; as well as organizational leadership.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and experience working in residence life or a university setting. Demonstrated planning, administrative, organizational and supervisory skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate and interact effectively with students, faculty, staff, and external constituencies.
