This study articulated the context well by arguing the effect of the deficit pathologization on neo-colonial mentality, which causes international students to be considered inferior or intellectually unequal as a homogenous group. By articulating the roots and guise of neo-coloniality, the study brings attention to emerging higher-education institutions and the potential of “neo-coloniality” in their relationship with international students.
