Job opportunity: Senior Project Manager, U. of Iowa

The University of Iowa (UI), College of Education is seeking to fill the position of Senior Project Manager under a five-year USAID-funded Activity that aims to strengthen private sector partnerships with higher education institutions, and support development of market-oriented and experiential learning approaches in the Republic of Kosovo.

The Activity will be implemented by the Iowa Consortium made up of Iowa’s two world-class research universities, the University of Iowa (UI) and Iowa State University (ISU), and its international partner the Kosova Education Center (KEC), a leading non-governmental organization (NGO) focused on educational training, analytics, and leadership development.

The Activity will be driven by companies and industry leaders from Kosovo’s Agriculture (Ag) and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sectors.  Programmatic activities and interventions include collaborating with the private sector and institutions of higher education to achieve curricular reforms aligned with labor market needs, building capacities for university applied research in Kosovo’s major industries and markets, and assuring that Kosovo’s university graduates have experiences that optimally translate to professional success for themselves and their employers.

Under the general direction of the UI Project Director, the Senior Project Manager will support partners and stakeholders in Iowa and Kosovo to implement and achieve Activity outcomes. The Senior Project Manager will facilitate advisory, managerial, communication, and reporting functions for the project, and s/he will provide guidance on technical, administrative, and procedural issues and activities. The Senior Project Manager will coordinate partners in assuring compliance, monitoring, and evaluation activities are completed in accordance with USAID and University of Iowa policies and practices. The Senior Project Manager will support the Project Director on a day-to-day basis, with a focus on collaboration, learning, adaptation, and organizational development.
