The Journal of Higher Education Management (JHEM), sponsored by the American Association of University Administrators (AAUA), seeks to replenish its cadre of manuscript reviewers. JHEM is an electronic publication available at: https://www.aaua.org/journal-of-higher-education-management/. Over the past five years the journal’s acceptance rate has averaged 40 percent. The Journal charges no publishing or page-cost fees; nor are authors, reviewers, or editors remunerated for their work.
Reviewers conduct blind reviews of manuscripts submitted for publication consideration in JHEM. They make wholistic assessments whether to recommend publication, revision, or non-acceptance; they also provide constructive comments which are later relayed to the manuscript authors. (The names of reviewers are not shared with authors.) Reviewers are not required to hold membership in AAUA.
Assessment rubrics and evaluation forms are provided. (Reviewers may be asked to participate in an initial training session.) Reviewers are expected to complete work within three weeks of receipt of a manuscript. It is expected that individuals will not be asked to conduct more than four reviews per year for this professional volunteer service.
Potential reviewers should submit a letter of interest and a brief c.v. to dking@aaua.org. (Although previous experience as a reviewer is not required, should you have such experience please so state in your letter of interest.) Expressions of interest in reviewer work are considered on a rolling basis
