SUMMARY:
Responsible for the increasing portfolio of short-term programs run by and affiliated with International Education; takes the lead in managing and supporting curriculum linked study abroad programs, including summer study abroad and EnCompass programs, and works with campus partners such as the Chaplaincy, Student Development, and Athletics on international travel, including internships. Works with faculty and students to advise and facilitate engagement abroad. Coordinates the annual Study Abroad Fair for worldwide partners and is the primary organizer for International Faculty Seminars. Also responsible for a portfolio of semester or year-long study abroad programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary responsibility for UR’s expanding roster of short-term programs, including working closely with faculty and student travelers, setting up arrangements with foreign hosts and accompanying the trip as possible. Reviews short-term travel plans for all campus constituencies and drafts recommendations for dean-level feedback to campus groups including the Chaplaincy, SSIRs, etc. Resource for students on international internships approved by IE.
- Assists Associate Dean with managing UR’s faculty-led summer study abroad programming, including marketing, the application process, health and safety information, and communications with faculty, staff, parents and students.
- Manages a portfolio of semester or year-long Study Abroad programs, including student advising, application and admissions process.
- Plans events including the Study Abroad Fair and all student recruitment events, including information sessions for target student groups including underrepresented constituencies.
- Assists the Dean with planning and arrangements for the International Faculty Seminar, requiring frequent communication with the faculty traveling and personnel in the host country.
- Assists with reports and statistical assessments of Study Abroad as a whole.
