Career Pathways includes 2 programs: The Preparing Future Faculty (PFF) program and the NEW Preparing Future Professionals (PFP) program.
1. The Preparing Future Faculty (PFF) program is designed for graduate students and postdocs interested in an academic career. You can earn the PFF Certificate by (1) completing a mentored teaching experience; (2) creating a CV; (3) attending PFF and other professional development events; and (4) producing an ePortfolio to document and highlight your professional development and growth.
2. The Preparing Future Professionals (PFP) program is designed for graduate students and postdocs interested in a non-academic career such as in industry, non-profit/non-governmental organizations, or government agencies. You can earn the PFP certificate by: (1) developing an individual development plan; (2) creating a resume; (3) attending professional development events or completing professional development activities; and (4) producing an ePortfolio to document and highlight your professional development and growth.
The Career Pathways program is free, and is open to all ODU graduate students and postdocs. Workshops are offered on campus and can be accessed via web conferencing. An archive of previously offered professional development workshops is also available 24/7 (the archive is available here).
We have several career and professional development events scheduled for Spring 2020 semester including career exploration events, resume and CV workshops, and workshops to prepare you for the job market. The Spring 2020 schedule can be accessed here>
