The Office of Distance Learning at ODU is searching for a new graduate assistant.
The graduate assistant in the Office of Distance Learning supports the Director of Advising and Retention, as well as the Assistant Vice-President for Academic and Student Support Operations, to support the online student population at the University through the following activities:
- Work with students who would like to change from main campus to online via database management and student appointments, if requested by the student
- Assist with special projects related to advising and student engagement in an online environment that are being developed by the Director and AVP
- Act as a point of contact for any walk-ins during normal business hours
- Assist with reaching out to new online freshmen, partnering with Director and AVP on retention activities. This may include meeting with students individually for success coaching. We currently have a freshmen population around 30 students so this small group needs some extra attention!
- 20 hours a week
