Mizzou seeks an Academic Advisor in the College of Education & Human Development. The Academic Advisor will work with students by applying case management strategies to encourage satisfactory academic performance and engagement in the college community. This position requires the ability to guide students in developing and accomplishing educational plans, strong critical thinking, and memorization. Other essential skills are attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and working independently while developing strong collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, and academic and student affairs staff. Expectations of a successful advisor include: possessing a working knowledge of the College of Education & Human Development curriculum, university policy, and campus resources; gathering and analyzing data to inform advising, interventions, and campaigns; drawing valid conclusions to make appropriate recommendations related to accomplishing academic goals; and, presenting clear and concise information, orally and in writing.
