Position Description 

One Graduate Assistantship is available in the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment beginning in January 2022, with the option of continuing in the spring and summer. This position will primarily provide support for the University’s advising platform – Retain. 

Specifically, the Graduate Assistant (GA) is primarily responsible for: providing customer service; managing and responding to emails; developing training for users; supporting user access; coordinating maintenance of the Retain product; working with other offices and units to enhance Retain features; and performing other administrative duties as needed. 


Strong oral and written communication skills and good computer skills are required; demonstrated technical writing skills; knowledge of and experience with providing customer service; critical thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to take initiative; good organization and office management skills; good interpersonal skills. 

Contract Terms 

Twenty (20) hours per week in Fall 2021, with an opportunity to continue in Spring 2022 and beyond; enrollment for a minimum of 3 credits in the summer and 9 credits in the fall and spring while seeking a master’s degree; renewable as long as student is eligible and meets performance standards. Salary is $5000 per semester; tuition waiver for master’s students from out-of-state to in-state rate, if available.
