Calling all ODU Higher Education students 🗣️

Are you searching for a way to grow personally and professionally, strengthen connections with peers and colleagues, and give back to your community? Here’s your chance! Whether you’re working towards a M.S.Ed, Ed.S., or Ph.D., the Higher Education Student Association invites you to take part in monthly General Body Meetings, HESA Hangouts, professional development experiences, leadership opportunities, and meaningful community service. Committed to cultivating authentic community, our members have enjoyed organization meals, arcade nights, study sessions, supporting mental health awareness initiatives, and travelling to local Native American powwows!

Interested in what HESA is up to? Our next event, Orange Shirt Day, will be held on Wednesday, 9/30, from 11:00-1:00 PM, on Kaufman Mall. Also known as Truth and Reconciliation, this day honors the Survivors of Indigenous residential and boarding schools and remembers the children who never returned home. Partnered with OIR, WGEC, OEA, ODU Libraries, and Monarch Dining, our goal is to provide an educational event that encourages reflection, learning, and meaningful dialogue across campus. Join us to learn more about Truth and Reconciliation, enjoy traditional Indigenous cuisine, discover resources, build community, and grab a keepsake button.
