Title: A Woven Mosaic: Living and Becoming Through the Stories We Share
We are seeking to identify authors to contribute to the Transracial Adoptee and Multiracial Knowledge Community (TAMKC, formerly MRKC) 2025-2026 E-Book.
In 2015, the “MRKC iBook project” came to fruition. Being a relatively new group, the MultiRacial Knowledge Community was looking for ways to empower and help build community among its members. In 2019, the E-Book came back to life, highlighting the theme of “Navigating Borderlands: Finding Community in Monolithic Paradigms”. It has been published several times since its initial publication 10 years ago. This year we are also excited to be celebrating our 15-year anniversary of the TAMKC and this year’s E-Book theme will encompass this celebration and solidarity our communities built together. This year’s theme is, “A Woven Mosaic: Living and Becoming Through the Stories We Share.” Submissions should address what it means to navigate higher education and student affairs, with consideration of these unique identities and the theme.
We are looking for a culmination of work that includes: scholarly, reflective, and personal work. As multiracial/transracial adoptee individuals, it is important to share stories that are sometimes excluded from larger racial narratives. We hope the stories and narratives shared through this experience will celebrate our community and amplify the experiences and voices of multiracial students and transracial adoptees in fostering community solidarity.
Written work can be in the form of, but is not limited to:
-Personal story/narrative
-Poem/spoken word piece
