Summer Internship @ Notre Dame of Maryland University

The Student Engagement Summer Intern assists with developing a strong Notre Dame community by providing support, programming, research and resources to the Office of Student Engagement and Community Programs. The Summer Intern will play an integral part in the success of summer initiatives through their dedication and efforts to serve the entire student population at Notre Dame.  The Summer Intern will work June – August at least 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with the virtual summer operations of the Office of Student Engagement & Community Programs
  2. Update online website resources and content for social media
  3. Attend staff meetings and contribute to the efficient functioning of the campus community
  4. Create a club and organization leadership training
  5. Coordinate summer programming for current NDMU students
  6. Complete necessary reports and forms for planning and assessing programs
  7. Assist with planning and implementation of our Fall Orientation and Welcome week programs
  8. Conduct benchmarking research on orientation, clubs/organizations and programs
  9. Facilitate communication with various campus office and departments
  10. Maintain ongoing communication with the Director of Student Engagement & Community Programs

Qualifications

  1. Must be enrolled in a graduate program studying higher education, student affairs, college student personnel or a similar field
  2. Must have experience working in Student Engagement and with orientation, clubs and programming
  3. Must have experience in student leader or employee training and development
  4. Self-motivated and ability to manage multiple projects
  5. Willingness to learn, positive attitude and good communication skills
