We are very excited to share that Dr. Jason Lynch’s dream of nearly a decade has finally come true, as he will be joining the faculty of Appalachian State University this fall as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Higher Education in the Reich College of Education where he will continue his research on how trauma impacts professional helpers in education organizations!
Jason’s dissertation research, “The Cost of Caring: A Phenomenological Analysis of the Impact of Trauma-Support on Student Affairs Professionals” will be published in a fortcoming issue ofThe Review of Higher Education, the official journal of the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE) the premiere association in our field. His research has also been published in other top-tier journals in our field, including the Journal of Diversity in Higher Education, the Journal of International Students, and the Journal of Student Affairs Research and Practice.
Jason has served as an adjunct faculty in the Department of Education Foundations & Leadership, and he received the 2019 Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Award in the Darden College of Education & Professional Studies. He is beloved by the doctoral students who have had him as an instructor for FOUN 814 and other courses in our department. He recently received the ACUHO-I Manuscript of the Year Award among his growing list of honors and accolades for his cutting-edge scholarship.
