Study Away Program Internship Posting


The Study Away Program at Virginia Wesleyan University is seeking an intern for the fall 2020 semester. The Study Away Program Intern will work under the direction and supervision of the director of the Study Away Program. As part of the internship, the intern will agree to meet for weekly supervision with the director of the Study Away Program.

Location: The Lighthouse: Center for Exploration and Discovery, Clarke Hall, Virginia Wesleyan University
Schedule: 10-20 hours per week between the hours of 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday

Compensation: Unpaid – for credit

Duties:
● Assisting the director of the Study Away Program with advising students on study away programs and funding opportunities
● Assisting students with the Global Scholars application
● Designing and hosting study away workshops and events (e.g. information sessions, pre- departure sessions, themed events)
● Creating marketing materials to promote study away courses and VWU’s Global Scholars Program
● Conduct classroom visits, and assist with other planned outreach, such as the Study Away Fair
Qualifications:
● Be enrolled in an accredited graduate program in higher education
● Completed a semester, or longer, study abroad experience
● Excellent written and oral presentation skills
● Have a record demonstrating the ability to collaborate with a wide variety of people and offices
● Have superior attention-to-detail and organizational skills
● Have intermediate knowledge of Google Apps for Education and Microsoft programs
